The Cookson’s Bridge is a traditional, community value pub. It’s a wet-led business with an opportunity to offer bar food. The ideal Publican will capitalise on its fantastic location beside a canal and a busy road. Backing onto the Rimrose Valley Country Park, the pub’s position is excellent, offering plenty of passing trade on foot, cycling, or driving within easy reach of residential areas.


The Cookson’s Bridge is a pub popular for great drinks and live sports. That’s why we’re looking for an enthusiastic operator with a great personality and enthusiasm who can make this the place to be for residents and passers-by alike. It’s also in fantastic condition, as we completed a refurbishment in January 2018. Guests enjoy a lovely traditional feel, featured fireplaces and a warm and welcoming interior.


We’re looking for a strong operator with local knowledge and experience running wet-led pubs. You’ll attract guests with live music and sport. You’ll also capitalise on the opportunity to create a clever food offer and host live events in the function space.


Pub and location


Cookson’s Bridge is just three miles north of the city centre, on the northern outskirts of Liverpool in Litherland. It sits in a great spot between Rimrose Valley Country Park, Litherland Sports Park and Bootle Golf Course. Residents from private and council housing nearby frequent the pub.


Your trading space will be two rooms: a lounge bar and a function room. You’ll love sports, showing live events across six TVs and a large screen. Although this is a wet-led pub, there’s also a kitchen enabling you to create buffets catering for customers using the function room. Outside, the front of the pub offers a few tables and seating for guests to relax during the summer days. There’s also plenty of parking with a 40-space car park to the rear.
